Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in force since May 25, 2018 in the European Union. The GDPR lays down the rules regarding the processing by a person, company or organization of personal data relating to persons in the EU. In addition to strengthening the legal protection of the rights of data subjects, the GDPR defines rules and procedures from a technological point of view.

The Portal of the Regional Government of Madeira is managed by the Regional Secretariat for Finance. The technological infrastructure of the Portal of the Regional Government of Madeira is ensured by the Regional Directorate of Informatics.

Responsible for Treatment
The services of the Regional Government of Madeira, as data controllers:

• They ensure that the processing of your personal data is carried out within the scope of the purposes for which they were collected or for purposes compatible with those;

• Collect, use and keep only the personal data necessary for the purpose in question;

• They do not transmit any personal data for commercial or advertising purposes;

• They process personal data for legally foreseen purposes or to carry out services requested by the citizen.

Confidentiality and Privacy
The services of the Regional Government of Madeira are committed to processing your data in a loyal and transparent manner, guaranteeing confidentiality and security regarding the information requested and ensuring that they will only be used for the purposes expressly indicated and authorized.

Collection and processing of personal data
The Portal of the Regional Government of Madeira collects the strictly necessary and pertinent information for the purpose for which it is intended.

The information collected, through the contact form available in all areas of government, is the name and e-mail, intended for subsequent interaction between the competent areas and the citizen.

In compliance with the legal obligation to guarantee the security of information systems, provided for in paragraph 1 of article 32 of the RGPD, the Regional Directorate of Informatics processes personal data based on paragraph c) of paragraph 1 of article 6 of the same law (fulfillment of a legal obligation). It collects the following data from visitors to its website: date and time of consultation, IP address (Internet Protocol), type of browser used by the visitor and the pages accessed. These data are kept for a maximum period of 90 days. The personal data collected are not subject to any analysis, unless there are possible security incidents, in which case, after analysis, communicated to the competent authorities.

Access, security and user identification
All personal information that you provide through the contact forms on the Portal of the Regional Government of Madeira is protected through security procedures that protect it from unauthorized access and disclosure.

Right of access, rectification, updating and deletion of data
The Portal of the Regional Government of Madeira guarantees you the right of access to data that concern you directly, being able to update or correct it, portability, erasure, limit its treatment or the right to object to the processing, without compromising the validity of the data processing carried out up to that point.

The conservation periods may change when the associated public interest, historical, scientific or statistical reasons justify it.

The Portal of the Regional Government of Madeira uses cookies to improve the performance and browsing experience of users.

The cookies used on the Madeira Regional Government Portal are:

• Essential - necessary for browsing the website, guaranteeing access to private areas of the website, in order to allow the performance of services, namely session cookies;

• Analytics - necessary for collecting information for statistical analysis of navigation and use of the website, namely Google.

Social media
The Government Portal does not use the sharing of content to Social Networks, and no user data is provided to Social Networks.

Interaction with the existing Social Networks is done through links to the Social Networks of the respective Government Areas.

Cookie Policy and Similar Technologies
On websites, portals and digital platforms, GRM uses cookies and other similar technologies that allow a more personalized browsing experience and the performance of services by its users, in favor of response efficiency and elimination of the need to repeatedly enter personal information to request the provision of services by allowing the infrastructure to remember your preferences (e.g. language, username, et cetera) over a certain period of time.

In most cookies, personal data will not be collected. Personal data and information from the user's device (cookies, unique identifiers and other device data) will be used specifically by GRM's digital services, without being shared with third-party providers. Performance cookies may be used for statistical purposes on the browsing experience of our digital sites.

Some cookies may have their legal basis in the public interest, due to the nature of the entity Responsible for the Treatment or based on the prior consent of the user. Processing operations based on the public interest may be subject to opposition by the data subject and consent may be withdrawn at any time.
